Business Growth Manager – Mining & Mineral Processing

Location: South Africa
Languages: English and Afrikaans
Education: Master’s degree or higher in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Minerals Engineering, Mineral Beneficiation or a closely related discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the mining and mineral processing industries.

Build and maintain relationships with mining companies, mineral processing plants, engineering consultancies and mining equipment stakeholders.

Identify opportunities in mineral beneficiation, X-ray transmission (XRT) ore sorting, pre-concentration and process optimisation.

Engage with mining engineers, metallurgists and plant managers to understand operational challenges and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

Develop strategic partnerships, manage business development pipelines and support commercial negotiations.

Conduct market research, competitor analysis and customer visits across South Africa and neighbouring African markets.

Coordinate technical discussions, customer trials and project follow-ups with engineering and technical teams.

Requirements

A Master’s degree or higher in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Minerals Engineering, Mineral Beneficiation or a closely related discipline.

Relevant experience in the mining, mineral processing, metallurgical or mining equipment industry.

Strong technical knowledge of mineral processing flowsheets, ore characteristics, beneficiation techniques and mine operations.

Professional proficiency in both English and Afrikaans is essential.

Strong business development, communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.

Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial opportunities and measurable business growth.

Willingness to travel to mine sites and develop business opportunities across Southern Africa.

Preferred Candidate

A technically qualified professional with postgraduate-level expertise in mineral processing or metallurgy, combined with strong commercial acumen and an understanding of the mining value chain. Experience in mining equipment, ore sorting, mineral recovery, process optimisation or technical sales will be an advantage.
