JUNIOR GAME MANAGER | ENTABENI SAFARI CONSERVANCY

Entabeni Safari Conservancy, situated within the Waterberg UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Game Manager to join the Reserve Management team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Reserve Manager.

Please note: This is a remote position, approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the nearest town. Single accommodation is provided on the reserve.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with managing Reserve Management staff, security and anti-poaching operations.
• Assist with the planning, construction and maintenance of roads, fences, bridges, dams and airstrips.
• Prepare for firebreaks and controlled burns, and assist with wildfire management.
• Assist with problem animal control and monitor fauna and flora.
• Support land rehabilitation, including erosion, river-line and old-land rehabilitation.
• Assist with alien vegetation and bush encroachment control.
• Monitor game-drive guides to ensure compliance with reserve management rules.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment and oversee the asset register and monthly stock takes.
• Assist with conservation projects and Hospitality operations when required.
• Complete weekly/monthly reports, timesheets, stock orders and general administration.

Requirements:
• Diploma in Nature Conservation, Game Ranch Management or Nature Management.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Valid South African driver’s licence; 4x4 experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of GPS and Google Earth.
• Computer literate.
• Farm equipment operation and maintenance experience advantageous.
• Firearm competency advantageous.
• Willing to work flexible hours and conditions.
• No criminal record (SAPS verification required).
